Meet the team!
Andy - Team Captain
Andy is the experienced rallier of the team and has been known to nurse a
car 2500 miles with nothing more than a piece of gaffer tape making the
difference between success and failure. Despite having done this sort of
thing before, he is up for doing it again - this time for a good cause. So
far, he's already foiled an attempt by his local council to get the car
scrapped before the rally has begun. If one thing is certain though, if
Rover will roll, Andy will get it to Rome.
Steve - Mechanic
We were puzzled how he came to the conclusion
that the car was quite good cos we thought we'd bought a heap. Still,
mindless optimism is his trademark whilst health and safety remain the least
of his concerns. When he inevitably somehow chops his own finger off whilst
checking the screen wash, he bleeds for the team. Despite this, he's mostly
harmless, and is at home amongst bits of Britain's motoring grot. He may be
an evil genius for all I know - however, I'm not convinced.
Damien - Communications
Whilst the other two got to play with power tools, Damien was locked in a
basement and fed on fish heads and water until he sorted out the website.
Several days later he emerged blinking owlishly in the daylight and the site
was complete. Since then, he's been a bit overwhelmed by the fact that as
he's the self proclaimed communications expert, he is expected to be fluent
in French, German and Italian before the rally starts. Since he's
linguistically challenged in English at the best of times and his
continental vocabulary only stretches to words like Heineken, Kronenbourg
and Stella, this doesn't bode well. Still, if he can manage to shout the
word 'SAUSAGES' in a dodgy foreign accent he'll be OK - probably!
... together, we are: Team Dog!
